ECU Repair Service for 3000GT, Dodge Stealth and Diamante

ECU Repair and Return Service is $250.
includes return shipping - 5 year warranty.

We usually only keep it one or two business days,
depending on time of arrival and the amount of time and
attention any particular ECU is going to require.
The damage on these can vary quite a bit, so it's all about
what we have to work with when we open it up.

These early nineties Mitsubishi ECUs are prone to
failure due to the original factory electrolytic capacitors.
When they get to a certain age the capacitors start slowly
leaking an oily fluid that eventually will corrode the copper lines of the printed circuit board, as well as degrade or ruin the metals of any components that were saturated in the acidic chemical.

After an ECU has been properly overhauled,
the capacitor problem will not be back again.
Only the old original factory capacitors,
be it from Nichicon, Rubicon or otherwise,
are what is causing all the trouble.
These capacitors were all made in the 1980s, and
later wound up in various Japanese brand electronics
and automotive control units in the early to mid 90s.
This is not a problem with contemporary components.

Send your ECU to us at the address below,

Note: Specific to these Mitsubishi 6 cylinder ECMs for Stealth, 3000GT and Diamante'
In some cases a vertically mounted "sub board", either the MH0210 or the E552 is damaged and has to be replaced.
It is sometimes damaged by the electrolytic acid from failing capacitors, and other times one or two of the surface mount processors on them will burn out.
Sometimes you can see the burnt component if you really look it over closely, the acid damage is much easier to spot. It will usually look gooey in that area, with a black or dark green corrosion.
This chip is only available from another "donor" 6 cylinder ECM, and that donor ECM will be useless after it is removed.
We charge an additional $150. to sacrifice one of our other ECMs to save yours, unless you can provide the donor board yourself, which is great.
Of course you have the choice to decline the offer and we will return your ECM "as is un-repaired" for $35.

This is the chip or sub board, on the right of the electrolytic capacitors.

Heres a closer look at one side of the E552 and M0210 sub boards.
They seem to be randomly used in place of each other from the factory, both are found in many Mitsubishi 6 cylinder ECMs, SOHC and DOHC 3.0

   -  Not all ECMs, ECUs are repairable  -

Some ECMs are just not good candidates for repair. Many ECM units simply must be replaced, due to the type of failure they experience.and some ECUs are almost always repairable.
